I love tattooing areolas...

I hope this email finds you well and I am popping in with some business updates!

On Saturday I made it back to PDX after a week long tattoo training in Naples, Florida. At training I learned some advanced techniques for eyebrows, eyeliner and lip blush services and I am feeling really excited to add on to the skill set I already have...especially for brows and eyelash enhancements.

In the last few days of training I had the privilege of learning from Vicki Clark and Gemma Bowers from The Areola Training Academy. When it comes to medical tattooing and tattooing areolas in particular...these two are incredibly talented and I was lucky that they flew in from the UK for this specific event. Check out their work here

When I started cosmetic tattooing about 5 years ago...I always had an interest in this type of service. I thought it looked amazing and more importantly, I knew that this could be the most rewarding service and truly a way to give back. From those who have gone through cancer to trans folx moving through their transition... there are so many people who could benefit from this service.

And let me tell you...during this training and going through all of the different client testimonials from Vicki and Gemma's clients...not a dry eye in the house. For real.

After a lot of practice and getting the areola technique down, we worked on live models who had gone through breast cancer. Each model had their unique experience from the specific type of breast cancer they had gone through to the surgeries (sometimes multiple) and the reconstruction that was performed. After I completed my model she was so stoked and I was for sure crying.

My gut was totally right; I knew I always wanted to learn this type of tattooing and now I know why. It is super artistic and there is a lot of creative freedom when it comes to this type of tattoo and as I mentioned before, this type of service makes me feel like I am really providing something that is healing for the client.

I mean..brows do provide a confidence boost, don't get me wrong. But this...was a whole different level.

I'm in the process of figuring out how to share my areola work because apparently instagram is really into banning that type of "content." So we shall see.

But one thing I know for sure..I'll be offering this service in the near future <3

Emily
